Alberto Tonini
Alberto Tonini is Professor of History of International Relations and History of Middle East at the School of Political Science Cesare Alfieri and Director of the Master in Mediterranean Studies of the University of Florence. Among his research interests: the Arab-Israeli conflict; Islam and modernity; migrations in the Mediterranean area; energy relations between Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. From 1995 to 2002 he was national secretary of SeSaMO, “Italian Society of Studies on Middle East”. He is author of several publications, including “Il sogno proibito. Mattei, il petrolio arabo e le «sette sorelle»” (2008) and “Un'equazione a troppe incognite. I paesi occidentali e il conflitto arabo-israeliano 1950-1967” (1999).
