Dina Baslan
Dina Baslan is writer and researcher specialized in media, migrations and displaced persons. Born in Jordan, she is of Circassian origins. She graduated in Journalism and Mass Communication at the San Jose State University, California. Most of her professional interest focuses on the journey of displaced persons, ways of survival and refugee and migrants’ narratives. She previously held positions with UNESCO, Open Society Foundations and ECHO but has for almost two years been working as a freelance researcher and activist. Since January 2016, she has been building close affiliations with the Sudanese refugee community – considered one of the most marginalized in Jordan — through a volunteer team that aims at advocating for and empowering a group that lives on the fringes of the society and at helping the entire community.
