Laura Silvia Battaglia
Professional freelance journalist and documentarian. She is correspondent from Sanaa for the American-Lebanese video-journalistic agency Transterra Media, the Tukish agency TRTWorld, the Swiss public service (RSI), The Fair Observer and Guernica Magazine. For the Italian media, she regularly collaborates with newspapers (Avvenire, La Stampa, Il Fatto Quotidiano), radio networks (Radio Tre Mondo, Radio Popolare, Radio In Blu), television (TG3 – Agenda del mondo, Rai News 24), magazines (D – Repubblica delle Donne, Panorama, Donna Moderna), agencies (Redattore Sociale) and websites (TGcom 24, Lettera43). She also collaborates with the information sites Terrasanta.net and Eastmagazine.eu. Since 2007 she has dedicated to reportage in conflict zones (Lebanon, Israel and Palestine, Gaza, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Syrian borders). She shot and auto-produced five video documentaries. The first, “Maria Grazia Cutuli. Il prezzo della verità”, won the Giancarlo Siani award in 2010. She also received the Maria Grazia Cutuli award in 2013 as emerging Sicilian journalist. Since 2007 she has been Professor at the Master in Journalism at the Università Cattolica in Milan.
