Ramize Erer is one of the leading exponents of the feminine Turkish cartoon. She made her debut in the world of caricature in the early 80’s in the historical satirical magazine Girgir. She later collaborated with some of the major humorous newspapers and magazines in the country. Defined as a "feminist cartoonist", she illustrates the typical gender dynamics of her country and she is the director of Bayan Yani, the "first and only women's humorous magazine in the world", founded in 2011. She currently lives in France, where, last January , as part of the comic festival of Angouleme F.OFF, has been awarded the "Couilles au cul" Prize 2017 for artistic courage.
