Born in 1958, he officially went into politics in 1990 as a City Councillor in Empoli. In 1995 he became Mayor of Empoli and President of the Empoli-Valdelsa District and of the Conference of the Mayors of the Azienda USL 11. From 2004 to 2006 he was President and CEO of Publiservizi S.p.A. and in 2005 he became Councillor of the Tuscany Region, a position held until 2013. In March 2013 he was appointed Assessor for the Presidency by the President Enrico Rossi, with competencies on budget, finance and taxes, heritage and regional offices. In July 2015 he was confirmed by Rossi. Among his new areas of competence the culture of legality and immigration.
