Arzu Geybullayeva

Arzu Geybullayeva (born in Baku in 1983) is an Azerbaijani blogger, activist and journalist for several newspapers, including Al Jazeera, Foreign Policy, Global Voices and Agos. She has studied Global Policy at the London School of Economics and worked for several think tanks, including the National Democratic Institute and the European Stability Initiative. She has been research associate at the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia since 2013. She advocates a peaceful resolution among Armenians and Azerbaijanis over the Karabakh conflict and, due to her collaboration with the Armenian newspaper Agos, she has received various insults and death threats. Since 2009, she has become a contributing columnist for the Osservatorio Balcani e Causaso, a think tank based in Italy. Since 2011 she has also been co-director of the Imagine Center for Conflict Transformation, an organisation that promotes goods relations between Armenians and Azerbaijanis. She currently lives in Istanbul for security reasons.
