Massimo Berruti

Massimo Berruti was born in Rome in 1979, he interrupted his biology studies to dedicate himself to photography. Active as a freelance since 2004, in 2005 he joined the Grazia Neri agency. First subjects to which he was interested were Italian: suburbs, industrial crisis and immigration. His career as a young reporter consolidated from the outset working for the most important Italian and European newspapers: L'Espresso, Paris Match, The Independent, International, D La Repubblica delle Donne. Since 2007 he has traveled frequently in Afghanistan and Pakistan to document the social and political evolution of the two countries, but he managed to take an entirely Italian reportage for Marie Claire (March 2010) on Milanese political circles. Today he is among the best of his generation: Best Young Reporter at Perpignan in 2009, second at the World Press Photo 2007 in the Stories Contemporary Issues category and prize of excellence in the News Picture Story section of the POY Prize (Picture of the Year) in 2010. member of the French agency VU' dal 2007.
